AND - flipbook based on the film of the rotating doors.
The word ‘and’ connects words as the spine connects pages. The book structure allows you to read back and forth through a changing image. A reconfiguration of the before and after.

I have been thinking more recently about books and sound, page turning and speech/reading. The sound of reading. The way reading fills the mind and books fill the space. There is an implied sound when reading but not actual, an echo in your mind of the voices in the book.

I finally got around to creating a document of my work from the brief permanence show. My work for the show was site specific so I wanted to collect together a record of what was shown. Images, text and the content from the books in a series of pamphlet sewn books.

‘an echoed touch’
Playing with a form I have used before and experimenting with content. The length of the words dictates the page depth.
